Sales and marketing careers enjoy a high compensation relative to their required education and background. Sales and marketing professionals are responsible for all of the revenue of a company, so these positions tend to be in high demand and not subject to certain pressures of internationalization. It should be noted that this career group has a very broad group of occupations with varying levels of compensation. The average salaries given mean very little, in particular with sales roles, due to extremely variable compensation due to individual performance.
